I personally think Wuben deserves more recognition for the affordable and highly powerful flashlights they produce — The T1 is another example of that.
But I’ll be honest; I did have some doubts about the flashlight with a few comments, even if the 98% was positive. So, was that 2% lying or?
I know you’re here to know everything about the Wuben T1, and you shall because I anonymously bought a unit and tested it on my own.
So, what did I find? I’m welcoming you to read this review so you can decide yourself whether it’s worth the money, with my recommendation.

Wuben T1: Key Features
Dimensions and Build Quality
Wuben T1 is a flashlight of fantastic style and supreme quality; let me tell you how.
For starters, the T1 is made from premium aluminum, but Wuben doesn’t mention the HA rating. So, I wouldn’t say it has a hard anodized surface.
The knurling pattern of this little beast is so amazing bigger than the body, but the tail’s diameter is somewhere in the middle.
A little bit like a dumbbell, if you may.
That’s why you never have to worry about an ergonomic and secure grip even if you wear gloves or have wet hands — that’s how the grip should be.
The T1 comes in black with smooth and even edges with a slight satin sheen, and I LOVE how it looks.
Here are the compact dimensions of the Wuben T1 tactical flashlight,
- Length: 6.4″ (162mm)
- Diameter: 1.6” (40mm)
- 7.6oz (215g) with battery
- 5.8oz (165g) without battery
These numbers confirm amazing portability.
By design, the T1 jas a smooth and relatively deep reflector, and an AR-coated glass protects it.
You’ll love the two-way pocket clip on the flashlight’s body. The placement ensures the center of gravity is in favor of NOT falling down easily. On top of that, you can choose bezel-down or bezel-up when you’re carrying the flashlight.
THAT’S a practical way of protecting your flashlight by design.
All things considered, it’s safe to say that the Wuben T1 tactical flashlight sure has an AMAZING build quality.
Before we look at how the user interface works, you need to know that there are two modes; tactical mode and outdoor mode.
Within these modes are six modes: eco, low, med, high, strobe, and SOS.
Navigating through these modes can be done by one main tail switch.
Here’s how this part of the user interface works.
Remember that the tactical mode is factory defaulted. After you tap the button five times, followed by a full click, the outdoor mode is turned on.
This is when you have mode memory and brightness levels. So, remember that the tactical mode doesn’t have the mode memory.
In the tactical mode:
When the flashlight is turned OFF, You should long press the main button for a momentary high. Single clicking in this state will turn on the high setting.
Sideways long pressing tail switch gets you the momentary strobe. If you hold it for over 2 seconds, the strobe mode will be constant.
Two clicks will enable the SOS mode.
When the flashlight is turned ON, one click turns the flashlight off. Sideway clicking will change the mode from high to low only. Similar to the previous instance, long pressing sideways for more than 2 seconds will enable the strobe mode and two clicks for the SOS mode.
As mentioned earlier, there is no mode memory in the tactical mode; it always turns on high.
In the outdoor mode:
When the flashlight is turned OFF, long pressing the main switch gets momentary on of the memories brightness. Single clicking will turn on the memorized brightness.
Sideways long pressing enables momentary strobe, and you can hold it for more than 2 seconds for constant on.
Similar to the prior instance, two sideways click enables the SOS mode.
As you can see, the mode memory is present in the outdoor mode.
However, the Wuben T1 tactical flashlight doesn’t have a low-voltage warning or an electronic lockout mode.
You’ll definitely love the LED-based battery status indicator. This comes alive when you’re charging the flashlight.
What does it indicate?
- Flashlight red means the charge is 15% or less (no blinking)
- Solid red means the charge is 15% to 40% (the light stays for 5 seconds)
- Flashing blue means the charge is between 40% to 90% (the light stays for 5 seconds)
- Solid blue means the charge is above 90% (stays on for 5 seconds)
That’s pretty much about the user interface of the T1. Let’s look at the lumen output next.
Wuben is a flashlight known for high-CRI high-brightness lights; the T1 is another piece of evidence for that.
This reliable flashlight runs with Luminus SST40 6500K LED.
If you didn’t know, this color temperature is cool white.
I would say the light’s color is the perfect mixture or balance between yellowish and bluish light, with a slightly higher blue tinge compared to neutral white.
As we discussed, the Wuben T1 tactical flashlight has six modes. Now’s the time to look at their respective lumen outputs.
At the lowest mode, we get 5 lumens with the eco mode. This is good enough for the lowest brightness level, but it would be better if this were 1 or 0.5 lumens for that moonlight mode. Nonetheless, it’s a level you can illuminate surroundings without disturbing the night vision.
I’d say it’s ideal for map reading.
Above that is the low level emitting 130 lumens. The lumen gap here is admirable, as it would have been not so impressive if it was around 50 lumens. With that, you will totally feel as if it’s a completely different flashlight from when you were using the eco mode.
Medium level’s 550 lumens showcase Wuben’s dedication to making the T1 as diverse as it can be. In only three levels, we have come up to 500 more lumens with just two clicks — that’s how efficient this flashlight really is.
Apart from the main modes, there’s the 2000 lumens strobe mode and the 150 lumens SOS mode. The industry standard is for the strobe mode to have the same output as the high setting, which Wuben respects.
That’s why the T1 is an ideal hunting flashlight too.
That’s about the lumen outputs.
Battery, Runtime, And Charging
You get a branded 18650 battery from Wuben. But the T1 shows off the battery compatibility as you can also run it with a CR123 battery.
First, let’s look at the runtimes you get with the 18650 battery included in the package.
Eco mode is designed to run for 100 hours, which is this tactical flashlight’s peak runtime.
100 hours is more than 4 days, and this makes the T1 one of the best camping flashlights to protect yourself for extended times.
Low mode can run up to 10 hours. As we discussed earlier, this 10-fold drop in the runtime is justified by the lumen gap the two modes have.
The medium mode can run for 2.5 hours, and it’s pretty satisfactory.
At the highest mode with 2000 lumens, you get 2 mins, and this is impressive given how this could have been about 20-30 seconds. After the 2-minute mark, the lumen output drops to 700 lumens, and THAT can run up to 1.5 hours.
1.5 hours of a high setting is yet another reason why this tactical flashlight is so popular.
Under the user interface, I told you how the flashlight has a battery or charging level indicator. The flip side of that information is the presence of USB-C rechargeability of the flashlight. Needless to say, you get a USB-C charging cable.
Not only that, you also get a mechanical seal of the charging port. These little design features show how Wuben understands its customers and wants them to use their flashlights long-term.
You can charge this little beast for approximately 2 hours. I’ll tell you long it took me when I share my experience with you.
Bottom line? The Wuben T1 has impressive battery aspects.
As a reliable brand, Wuben belongs to the group that only prioritized the peak beam distance. Because once that’s known, every other beam throw is under that.
So, at the high mode’s 2000 lumens level, you get a 498m peak beam throw.
This is a staggering distance of over 1600 ft, and that’s a little over a quarter of a mile which is quite impressive.
I decide to use my UNI-T UT383 BT to check the throw of the med level to get an idea of the throwing gap. I’ll share what I discovered for the high and medium modes when I tell you my experience with the flashlight.
With that covered, let’s look at the resistance aspects of the flashlight.
Resistance Against Water and Impact
Although surface anodization is absent, the Wuben T1 is still made from premium aluminum alloy.
With an AR-coated glass and the overall shape of the flashlight, it’s safe to say that this tactical flashlight is designed to last for a long time.
After all, it also has a USB-C charging port cover.
You’d be pleased to hear that the flashlight comes with an ANSI FL1-compliant IP68 waterproof rating.
You might already know that this means the T1 will stay safe even under 2m of water depth for about 30 minutes.
The number 6 means that the flashlight is dustproof. This isn’t the same as IPX8; the IP68 is BETTER.
The cherry on top is the 1.5 impact resistance. This is probably why so many military personnel prefer the T1.
In conclusion, the flashlight WILL last long regardless of the conditions you use it in.
With that, you know everything about the features. Next, let’s look at what customers say about the T1.
Customer Feedback for Wuben T1
As I always say, it’s better to see what customers say when buying a flashlight.
Some people don’t like giving out their names when reviewing, but what matters is that verified purchase tag. So, the gist of this review is that “yes, the flashlight is great, and I’m definitely recommending it.”
Wuben’s customer service is admirable. That only increases the value of the flashlight as a product.
Who doesn’t like an excellent beam with a fantastic spill of a well-built flashlight?
Up next, let me tell you about my experience with the T1. Be sure to read it carefully because this is how the flashlight behaves in real life.
My Experience With the Wuben T1
Not a lot of flashlights make a pleasant impression when you take them to your hands.
Guess what? T1 did.
I absolutely love everything about the build quality and design. It looks so badass, and it is immediately a part of your hand the moment you grab onto it. 7.5 ounces feels pretty fine; with that, you can maneuver the light better. I personally don’t recommend too heavy OR too lightweight flashlights.
The two-way pocket clip is as you’d expect it to be. I tried it on the pockets of my jeans, jacket, and backpack, and it securely holds on.
Upon closer inspection, you can see all the segmented knurls and know the light won’t let you down.
With that, I turned it on.
My first reaction? That’s an impressive color temperature.
I had used to ditch the cool white, but I realized I’d been missing out, discovering the light of the T1. There’s a lot of CRI in this light. From eco to the high setting, you can clearly see the lumen jump; it’s a Luminus SST40 LED, so I wouldn’t expect any less.
I timed the high setting, and the 2000 lumens dropped to somewhere close to 800 lumens after around 2 minutes for me.
The medium mode’s 550 lumens definitely ran for 2 hours and 40 minutes for me.
I’ll be honest; I didn’t time the low and eco modes, but I read enough reviews to know we can believe Wuben about the numbers.
However, based on landmark-based calculations, I can guarantee the almost 500 m throw. In addition, it’s a powerful beam, and the entire area within that 500m is well-illuminated.
On top of that, the coverable charging port (USB C port) is very effective. For me,
Oh, the single-switch user interface and how that beautiful tactical tail switch works feel amazing; you can switch modes easily.
Like always, I didn’t check for the impact resistance; it’s my only unit. On top of that, I read enough reviews to know that it’s safe to accept Wuben’s word. But I did check the waterproof rating.
Works perfectly fine.
I put it in my tub, held it under the shower head, and the flashlight performed unchanged against the strong water steam from the bidet shower.
What more can I ask for?
The only two downsides I noticed were the lack of a moonlight mode and the electronic lockout mode.
Even without them, the T1 is a clear investment that will continue to impress you.
Price, Warranty, And Return Policy of Wuben T1
With 60,000 candelas, 4+ days of runtime, and 2000 lumens of high-quality SST40 light, it’s a borderline steal to buy the Wuben T1 for just $89.99.
Let’s not forget that T1 is a branded flashlight that comes with more benefits.
For example, you get 5 years of Wuben’s premium warranty. In addition, you get 30 days of hassle-free return process for all of their flashlights, including the T1.
But the real question is, where should you buy yours from?
Where to Buy the Wuben T1?
It’s ALWAYS the official page dedicated by Wuben to the T1.
You won’t have ANY of the risks of third-party sellers when you buy from the official Wuben site — trust me, that $10 you might save is not worth the risk with branded flashlights.
Also, since the T1 is above $49, you get free shipping. Not just any free shipping; shipping from Wuben itself.
Pros and Cons of Wuben T1
Wuben brand’s other flashlight reviews:
Over to You
Wuben is a brand that thrives on the industry leader. The good thing about brands like these is that they do not make the mistakes that industry leaders do. As a result, the customer gets the absolute best quality for a relatively lower price. The Wuben T1 is a great example of that.
With 2000 lumens and hundreds of hours of runtime, it’s a crystal-clear investment.
But remember to buy it from the official site.
I hope this review helped you. See you in another!
